Robert Maynard provided this photo of former Pollard’s star William Thomas at his butcher shop, on Hampshire Rd, Sunshine, sometime in the 1920s. William (centre) proudly holds his daughter Emma. His years performing for Pollard’s Lilliputian Opera Company in North America and Asia are far behind him.

Thank you for the marvellous life history of Australia actress TRILBY ANKER SIMMONS.
In her later years she let rooms at her luxury apartment in Chelsea,London at the address you quote here. I was fortunate to stay there for a few months in 1970/71. I knew she was an actress at one time but I didn’t realise she had done so much work early in her career.
Thanking you again for this wonderful website.
John Skinner. Worthing,England
Thanks John – I will cut and paste this below the Trilby page as well. Regards Nick
